Interprofessional Communication in Medicine – When Misunderstandings Cause Adverse Outcomes for Patients

Medical malpractice claims often deal with the interplay between different healthcare professionals providing treatment to the plaintiff. To prepare for these claims, counsel must seek out expert evidence as to what physicians of different specialities would expect to be communicated to them by their colleagues, in order to determine whether any communication errors led to a patient’s injuries.
